KCE is a Community Benefits Society
Our aim is to provide energy to the residents and businesses of Knaresborough by generating and supplying electricity from renewable sources.
We Promote renewables through education and information
We also aim to establish an energy company owned by the people of Knaresborough, for the people of Knaresborough
Local energy, for local benefit.
Not-for-profit. Community-run.
We are a Community Benefit Society led by local people. Every project is designed to serve the town, not private shareholders.
Clean power, made here.
We’re developing solar, hydro, and battery projects in and around Knaresborough - creating energy that’s visible, local, and low carbon.
Part of a bigger shift.
By generating and owning our own energy, we’re building a more resilient town — one that keeps resources, skills, and value close to home.
